Urban Agriculture

Urban agriculture refers to a range of activities involving the raising, growing, processing, and sale of food in urban areas. Not only does urban agriculture increase access to fresh foods, it provides valuable opportunities for neighbors to connect with each other, learn about nutrition, exercise, and perhaps even start a business. NPLAN provides the tools to promote urban agriculture through land use policies, address liability concerns, negotiate with property owners, and encourage community participation.
